On July 26th, I went to Hampton Virginia for the 3rd Vans Warp Tour. I also brought with me Chris Gonzales from Alley Katz and good friend and Alley bartender Brian, and between the 3 of us and another friend named Robyn, we made a real Punk Party out of it.

We ran into Mike and Jim from Channel 43, and Cheez and T from Armwood. Somehow all these guys made their way backstage where everyone had a blast. I was able to get onstage and in the pit to take photos, and the Warped Security staff were sweet as pie, especially one sweetie named Ken who seemed more than attentive of keeping me from getting pounced by all the moshers and crowd surfers they were continually pulling over the wall and escourting out in the other direction. Hopefully I will have some of those photos on the site soon.

As for the bands on tour, the ones I made an effort to see and shoot photos of were:
AVAIL, awesome show as always.
GREEN DAY, these guys brought an unknown audience member up on stage with them and proceeded to teach him the chords to one of their songs, which the excited audience member then played with the band on stage. Now this is true audience participation, good going guys.
MXPX, by far my favorite of the day. For just 3 guys, these boys rock extra hard.
MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES: Now these guys were the biggest variation in genre on the tour, but geez can this band put on a show.
SUICIDE MACHINE, SNAPCASE, and the list goes on. If you missed this years Warp Tour, you owe it to yourself to check out the next one.
